IELTS Speaking Part 2

IELTS Speaking Part 2 takes around 3–4 minutes in total. In this section, you’ll be asked to give a short talk. The examiner will hand you a cue card with a topic and some prompts, along with paper and a pen to help you plan. You’ll have one minute to organise your ideas before you begin speaking. After that, you’ll talk for about 1–2 minutes, but it’s best to aim for the full two minutes to demonstrate strong fluency. Once you finish, the examiner may ask one or two brief follow-up questions. The key challenge in this part is to keep speaking naturally and develop your ideas for the full duration.
